The Annual Cheer Fishing Rodeo will be held on August 7th & 8th, 2026 at Wakeside Marina in Grand Isle, LA.
Our Annual Cheer Fishing Rodeo in Grand Isle is coming up, and we’d love for you to be part of it! This event is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year and helps support our entire program. There will also be cook-off teams, music, a silent and live auction, and activities for kids. If you don’t want to fish, you can still purchase a ticket, buy one at the entry table, or make a donation! Bring your friends and family for a fun day on the water while supporting a great cause. More details coming soon—mark your calendars and don’t miss it!

All proceeds go to the Colonel Athletic Association – Cheerleaders to help fund crucial program goals, including individual scholarships, team travel, competition expenses, and ultimately, a dedicated practice facility.

Event Times & Fishing Categories
The 5th Annual Castin’ Colonels Nicholls Cheer Fishing Rodeo is happening August 7–8, 2026, at Wake Side Marina in Grand Isle, LA! As detailed in the flyers below, the weekend kicks off Friday night from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with the CAA Colonel Caravan. Saturday is packed with action, starting with the fishing weigh-in from 10:30 AM to 2:30 PM, followed by the silent auction closing and live auctions starting at 2:00 PM. Wrap up the weekend celebrating our winners at the Fishing & Cook-Off Awards presentation at 3:30 PM.
1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies are up for grabs across both adult and kids’ divisions:
Adult Categories (13 & Older): Red Fish, Speckled Trout, Sheep Head, Flounder, Cobia, Red Snapper, and Mangrove Snapper.
Kid’s Category (12 & Under): Red Fish, Speckled Trout, White Trout, Sea Cat/(Gafftop), and an “Anything Goes” category.
