Together Shane and Lisa Kliebert have a total of six degrees from Nicholls State University. Shane graduated in the spring of 2006 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Secondary Education and in December of 2014, he earned a master’s degree in Educational Leadership. In 2006, Lisa graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Dietetics; in 2010, she obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Management; in 2012 a Master’s Degree in Teaching; and then in 2014, she added on an Educational Leadership Certificate. Lisa shares, “To say that Nicholls is part of our lives, is an understatement, we “bleed red and gray!”
Shane chose to attend Nicholls on an athletic scholarship after entertaining full scholarship offers from ULL, ULM and UMass. Lisa admired the small college atmosphere and enrolled at Nicholls to stay close to her family and southern traditions. As a member and captain of the Colonelette Dance Team, Lisa spent many Saturday afternoons cheering on her future husband Shane Kliebert, a defensive end for the Colonels football team before she knew him. After hearing of each other through mutual friends, the couple officially met while out in downtown Thibodaux. Interested in knowing what all the fuss was about, they started dating and will celebrate their 11 year anniversary in July 2018.
Shane is currently the Assistant Principal at his alma mater, St. James High School, and Lisa is the IC Instructional Rover for K.12.com., the number one online K-12 education program in America. The Klieberts currently live in Chackbay, Louisiana with their two children, Kade (9) and Hallie (4). They are proud supporters of Nicholls State University and enjoy attending athletic events. The two talk about the day when their children will play football and dance for Nicholls.
