Thad and Melissa Angelloz met for the first time at a Nicholls football game in 2000. Thad notes, “It was probably the only time my full attention wasn’t on the game being played on the field. It was truly love at first sight and that love has remained strong, with our lives still very much intertwined with a university we love immensely as well.” Along with regularly attending football games and other sporting events, they both graduated from Nicholls in 2002 and 2003, respectively. Melissa went on to receive her Master’s degree from Nicholls in 2014. Thad and Melissa have been married for fifteen years. They have four children, Griffin, Julia, Grant, and Gram. Thad shares, “All of them are Nicholls fans just like us. Not only did Nicholls provide a great educational foundation for us to start our careers locally, it served as the foundation for the relationship that followed between us. I always tell people “I live in a ‘Nicholls First’ house to the extent that when my two-year-old twins see a Nicholls logo, the first word out of their mouths is, ‘Ball!’ Yes, I think you can easily say we are one PROUD Colonel Couple.”
