COLONEL COUPLE

Letha Dawson Boudreaux (BS ’03 & MS ‘05) & Perry Boudreaux (BS ’03, MS ‘06)

Letha and Perry met at Nicholls in 1999 when they became lab partners in Organic Chemistry. They went through their entire undergrad careers being just friends. It wasn’t until Letha and Perry both started graduate school at Nicholls that they started dating. The couple began working on their Masters of Science in Marine and Environmental Biology together in January of 2004 and finished in December of 2005. Graduating right after Hurricane Katrina hit south Louisiana, they both worked together as Environmental Specialists for FEMA doing hurricane recovery work across south Louisiana and south Mississippi. After a couple of years doing recovery work, Letha and Perry each pursued different paths. Letha started a Marine Science Program at Saint Stanislaus in Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, where she also teaches Marine Science and Biology.  Perry is now the Chief of Environmental Operations for the Bureau of Ocean Energy Management, Gulf of Mexico Region, working out of the New Orleans office. They were married on April 17, 2010, and have since been blessed with an amazing four-year-old little boy named Owen Douglas. The family now resides in Slidell, Louisiana, with their boxer, Bella.
