Robert, an aeronautical science and business major, and Robin, a respiratory therapy major, met at Nicholls in 1978 in Dr. Urrechaga’s physics class. They were also lab partners in Dr. Vieth’s physics lab; Robin says, “The ‘force’ was definitely strong.” They dated until graduation when life took them on different paths. Robert served 26 years in the United States Air Force and retired with the rank of Colonel. Robin worked as a respiratory therapist for several years in both critical care and pulmonary rehabilitation until life moved her around the world to both Africa and Asia. Twenty-seven years after their parting of ways, they found each other again, married five years ago and returned to Thibodaux where they originally met. Robert is a pilot for Delta Airlines and Robin is on the Thibodaux Mainstreet Board of Directors.
Robin notes, “It’s like we have never been apart. Some things are truly just meant to be….even if it takes a very long time! We laugh every day, travel tirelessly and appreciate every moment together–it’s never too late to live happily ever after!”
